What is Fiscana?
Fiscana is an AI-powered chatbot that provides general information about Portuguese tax law. It is operated by Innovate360 Lda, a company registered in Portugal.
Fiscana uses a large language model (Claude, developed by Anthropic) to generate responses based on official Portuguese tax sources. All answers are intended for general information purposes only.
Fiscana is classified as a limited-risk AI system under Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the EU AI Act), Chapter IV, Article 50. This disclosure is provided in fulfilment of the transparency obligations under Art. 50(1).
What Fiscana can do
- Provide general information about IRS, IRC, IVA, IFICI, and other Portuguese tax topics
- Cite official sources including the Diário da República (DRE) and Portuguese tax codes (CIRS, CIRC, CIVA)
- Answer questions in Portuguese and English
- Help you understand tax concepts and procedures at a general level
- Direct you to the appropriate official authority for your specific situation
What Fiscana cannot do
- Fiscana cannot file taxes or interact with AT on your behalf
- Fiscana cannot guarantee that information reflects the most recent legislative changes
- Fiscana cannot provide legal advice or legally binding interpretations
- Fiscana may make mistakes — always verify important information with official sources
Data sources
Fiscana's responses are based on the following official Portuguese sources:
- AT — Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira (tax.gov.pt)
- Diário da República — DRE (dre.pt)
- CIRS — Código do Imposto sobre o Rendimento das Pessoas Singulares
- CIRC — Código do Imposto sobre o Rendimento das Pessoas Coletivas
- CIVA — Código do Imposto sobre o Valor Acrescentado
AI model and provider
Fiscana is powered by Claude (claude-sonnet-4-6), a large language model developed by Anthropic, PBC. Innovate360 Lda operates as a downstream deployer of the Claude API and is not the developer of the underlying AI model.
Anthropic's EU data processing agreement is in place. All data is processed in the EU.
GDPR and your data
Conversations with Fiscana may be stored for service improvement purposes. The lawful basis for processing is legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
Fiscana does not sell your data or use it for advertising. For data requests or complaints, contact us at the address below.
